The Thorns & Roses of Entrepreneurship [Part II]

You remember that you hang up on your friend just when she had begun giving you some useful advice.  You think, ‘maybe I should call her back and hear her out’ but since you had hanged up on her, you decide it is not a good idea to reach out to her. You are not yet ready to swallow the pride. Therefore, you result to uncle Google. You are still confident that your idea is gold, but you cannot understand why people are not buying it.

So as you run a few queries on Google about business, and stages of business. You discover something you had not thought about before you started. You learn that any company has a takeoff cycle, even the largest of them like Amazon and Microsoft begun at the lowest.

The reality sinks in that it is not about how great the idea is, you need to do more if people and potential clients are going to buy it. You had initially anticipated biting it significantly, but now you realise that for you to get to the big bites, you have to start small.

You begin to appreciate the process, and you learn that it is not an easy road as you thought. You have a little bit more patience as you send the emails and as you make the calls. Your goals slightly change you are looking out for the slightest positivity, they might not say yes, but you are willing to take anything affirmative.  Even if they tell you to try the following year you are ready, you are happy they responded.

At this point, you appreciate the lessons, you are now settled on learning more than earning, you may be second-guessing your decision to venture into the entrepreneurship but you are still resilient. After some soul searching, you feel that you can use some advice from people who have gone before you. Yes, it is time to call Susan! Nevertheless, what are you going to tell her? How will you even start the conversation?
